Watta week.
Last Wednesday was transfer day, so we woke up early and I said goodbye to my Mongolian for the second time. It was sad to leave him again but Elder Chinbaatar is going to do great. It was a long day driving from Riverton, to Casper, to Laramie, to Cheyenne.
Thursday was a good day, we had 3 solid lessons. One of the lessons was with these two people living together that aren't married yet. We had a great lesson then they told us that they're planning on getting married sometime this month! So that was perfect news to hear.
Friday was a busy day. I called that morning and talked to my brother Michael, shout out to him for getting married last Friday! So that was weird my brother getting sealed to someone for all time and eternity and I'm here in Cheyenne being a normal missionary. But it's the best it was a good day. We had 2 district councils, then did service. If you remember old emails from me, this guy named Baker has a bird farm with emus and peacocks and everything. So we were there for a couple hours helping him out. It's so weird to be back doing things I did at the beginning of my mission.
Saturday was our "car fast" day and my new area is super big so that was kinda rough. But we were able to get things done and talk to a lot of people on the street. It's kinda weird being in a tripan because when there's one person on the street, 3 guys walking up to them is kinda intimidating. But it was fun, although it started raining, but we fought through it and walked to chick fil a for dinner.
Sunday we had 2 wards to go to because we cover prairie view ward, and western hills ward. Praire view in the morning was great this cool guy were teaching named Gilles came. He's friends with these members and we were planning on teaching him right after but ended up setting up dinner and taught him later with the members and had dinner. Western Hills Ward was great as well and a guy named Brian showed up, looking exactly like a member. It was amazing. Although awkward because he looked so normal nobody was really coming up and introducing themselves to him. So we emailed the entire ward council off our phones and said "hey we have a guy named Brian with us, if you see this come introduce yourself and say hi!". It was a good day, and I saw a lot of people that I've met before. I while back I actually served in western hills for a week and a half when my trainer went home.
Monday was super busy, we had a netting early, then went straight to service at Primrose (retirement community, I've served there before too and some of the old people recognized me). Right after that we met Brian at the church building and gave him a tour of the chapel. When we got to the chapel we sat down and just talked for a while it was great. That evening I got picked up by the elders in Cornerstone. Cornerstone was my old area, and they were meeting with this family that I taught a lot when I was their. The kids, Carter and Kairi, are leaving on Friday foe the whole summer and won't be back until August. SO I went by to teach them/see them while I was here before they left. It was great Kairi was baptized when I was here and Carter still hasn't decided yet. But it was great and good to see them. It also worked out better if I just went to dinner with the cornerstone Elders, so I ate dinner with a cool family that remembered me.
Spirituak thought: 3 Nephi 11 is an AMAZING chapter in the book of mormon. It is when Christ comes and visits the nephites in ancient America. In 3 Nephi 11:11 Christ introduces himself as "the light and the life of the world". This is right after they had spent 3 days in darkness, so much dark that they could "feel the vapor of darkness". We probably won't be in darkness like that ever in our lives physically. But sometimes life is dark. Christ is the light. No matter how hard and dark life is Christ can bring light into it. I know that and can testify of it. Christ truly is the light of the world.
Fun stuff:
-Elder Chinbaatar convinced me to give him a tie that I love before I left
-I left my journal in my apartment in Riverton, don't know how I'm going to get it back, and Elder Chinbaatar has probably already read all of it
-my companion Elder Fazar goes home in 3.5 weeks, Elder Halladay goes home next transfer. Its nice to feel like a super young missionary after my last 2 companions have been brand new.
Pictures:
I failed with pictures this week but hey here's my brother's wedding invitation that I left of the fridge in Riverton.
