Hello brothers, sisters, Elders, fathers, mothers

It has been a good week with Elder Huntsman, honestly a pretty high point in my mission!

Last preparation day Elder Huntsman Magleby, and Ratliff got someone to take them to get pedicures again....The nail place was in the mall so me and Elder Tate went and played with puppies and kittens at the pet store. That evening once we got back to work was good. We felt like we needed to contact this person. So we went by, knocked on the door, and she yelled through the door that she was busy and to come back another time. So kinds lame, felt like we needed to contact this lady and it goes nowhere. BUT as we were walking out I saw this couple walking to their car from the pool in this apartment complex we were in. Out loud I said "should we talk to them". For some reason I was justifying not talking to them because they were in swimsuits or something I don't know...but immediately I was chastised by the spirit and said again to myself "yes, talk to everyone elder Milius what are you doing?!". So we talked to them and ended up having a really good conversation with this lady. She wasn't completely interested but it was good and we gave her our number and she might give it to some people she knows. The Lord led us to where we needed to be, BUT we still needed to be willing to act on every prompting and open our mouths.

Wednesday was a CRAZY day. It was transfer day with missionaries moving all around and lots of stuff to figure out. One set of sisters in our zone got swept in and they had no idea where the phone was. So for 3 days they just had no phone and could only communicate with us when they were at a church building with wifi. Other than that there wasn't too much confusion and craziness, someone did leave their suitcase behind but we called them before they got too far. It was just a long day of doing a lot of stuff but not inviting people to come unto christ. Me, Elder Huntsman, and Elder Ratliff wanted to go out and talk to people BAD. So we left elder Magleby with Elder Magleby and Elder Ratliffs new companion, Elder Owen's. And we went and knocked some doors. Said a prayer, decided where to go, started talking to people about christ and it felt great. Then we met these two people, Scott and Shena, and we talked to them for like 30 minutes. We taught them a whole lesson got a return appointment, and set up a time to come by and do some service for them. It was a miracle and the Lord blessed us with what we needed that day.

Thursday a cool miracle happened with the Lord guiding us again. We planned on going out to walk around and contact some people but didn't know exactly where or who. So we said a prayer and made a decision. Had made some distance, walked over the freeway, and had talked to one lady....then Elder Huntsman noticed my back pocket was untucked and i realized my wallet was not there. Apparently we were not in the right place. So we went back, found my wallet, and decided to started finding somewhere else. Long story short, we met this guy named Bryan and talked with him for quite a while and set up a time on Friday to come by and share our message. Revelation comes when you're on the move. Then that evening we had a lesson with Jamie which was super good! Kinda cool, Elder Huntsman was in Rawlins and found and taught Jamie before she moved down to Cheyenne. So Jamie loves elder Huntsman and it's SUPER cool that he gets to teach her again. He actually was going through the ward list the other day and saw her name on it and it made him super happy.

Friday morning we had a super good lesson which started off our day right. The rest of the day we did some service at a museum and then weekly planned. Had some appointments then had a meeting to end the night.

Saturday morning we had the stake transfer breakfast that they always do the first Saturday after every transfer to meet all the new missionaries. It was my 7th time being there which is crazy to think about. 7/10 of my transfers I have spent in Cheyenne! After that we had district Council, then ran to a ward picnic which was legit. Elder Huntsman met a lot of the members of one of our wards, we met some friends of people they brought, and I ate some pretty good food. Every meal on Saturday was provided for me! Dinner was the best meal though. Not because of how it tasted, although it was delicious, but because of the people we were with. It was a part member family, this pretty cool guy who is engaged to this lady from Thailand and she has a son named Noah. They were super cool and we shared a message that made her cry and set up an appointment to come by and teach her right after church!

Sunday was great, there was a missionary "homecoming" and it was super cool. This person who came home actually just had a brother that left last month. Both the boys/missionaries were friends with this guy named Tanner. Tanner came for the farewell and was here for the homecoming and this Sunday he had a white shirt. We're pretty positive we are going to meet with him soon, truly the members of the church are what make missionary work happen. We went to our other ward then right after went to that part member family and taught this Thai lady. She is great, but she doesn't believe in God which is interesting. She's Buddhist but fun fact, the very first person I taught and saw baptized was from China and was Buddhist. The similarities between us and them are honestly pretty close. It was a super good lesson.

Monday, Monday was good. That evening was when good stuff happened. We contacted this lady who is a member. She came out and sat down and talked to us and apparently is trying to get her name removed from the church. Although all that was happening we sat down and had a really great conversation and she was the nicest lady. We even left her with a promise that we'd pray for her son who is struggling right now. I hope and pray she is able to return to christ some day, she was great. We stayed in that area and talked to some people. Ended up on a doorstep and the lady said "there's a wasps nest right behind you" which led to us freaking out and running through sprinklers and getting soaked to escape. Right after that happened we met this cool lady named Sherry. We ended up teaching her some and giving her a book of mormon and were going back on Friday night to a fire with her and some of her neighborhood friends. The miracles always come after some sort of trial.

Spiritual Thought: Some good scripture study this past week. I LOVE the scriptures and wish I had more time to read, but I could read all day and if I don't apply it, it would mean nothing. ANYWAY Mosiah 7:18. These people were in bondage because of their iniquities. But their brethren come and they are rejoicing because they know they are going to get set free. In verse 18 he is comforting his people and rejoicing but then acknowledges that there is going to be an "effectual struggle". Honestly I didn't understand completely what "effectual" even meant. So I looked it up, pondered, and realized what he said was pretty cool. Although the Lord was there and was going to deliver then, the struggle was important. The struggle they were going to go through was important, and necessary, the result of the struggle was their freedom. In our lives we often go through struggles, everyone does. Sometimes because of others choices, sometimes because of our own wrong choices, and sometimes just because it happens. Those struggles sometimes are there to refine us and to make us stronger. I know that the trials we go through are a test of our strength, but they are worth it. And there always is deliverance, freedom, and joy in the end. As long as your rely on Him who is there to carry you through.

Fun stuff:
-story time. On Friday we were at the old West museum and we do service there with another set of Elders. They had left their bikes at our apartment so we rode them over but on the way home we had to walk. We were enjoying our walk, it was pretty warm outside, so we stopped at McDonald's and got a drink. While we were there it started POURING. But we were just right around the corner from the church building, which we were headed to. So we went out in it holding our drinks. Well...it was bad. We were getting pelted by HUGE raindrops and were soaked, we had to find shelter in an apartment complex. We went from building to building trying to avoid the rain, and I was stepping in huge puddles. We were finally close to the church building and had some shelter under this tree across the parking lot of the church and we were trying to figure out the best way to get to the church. I was pointing towards something and a huge piece of hail hit my hand. At that moment we saw two elders open the door to the church and we went for it. It was like a movie. We were soaked running through the rain, the hail was whizzing past us like bullets, Elder Huntsman got hit in the side but I kept running and we made it. We never even lost our sodas from McDonald's.
