Hello brothers and sisters,

We ate a lot of food this week and it was fantastic. Wednesday we did service at a place we've been going to recently. They were going to be closed on Thursday for the rest of the week so they were having a Thanksgiving meal for lunch, and there was SO MUCH TURKEY. So they fed us, and then before we left they had us fill up a bunch of containers with food to take home, and gave us a bunch of bread to take home because they were going to be closed for 4 days. It was service, but I felt like they were paying us in food.

Thanksgiving was fun, we had district council that morning, then ran to do service at the retirement home we always do service at every Thursday. They were having turkey and stuff too and tried to feed us, but we told them no thanks because we had 2 Thanksgiving dinners we were going to afterwards. We stopped by a member in the area of the other Elders in our district, because the food at his place we knew would be fantastic. He has a farm and a bunch of birds and animals, so the pig, and two turkeys were literally killed the day before. It was great, then we ran to a home of someone in our ward and ate dinner with her whole family which was fun. She also invited Mei and Jenny, the two recently baptized people I've been teaching, so it was a good time.

Friday we drove around a lot, contacting former people who have been taught. It felt like there was a hurricane with 100mph (exaggeration) wind, so we spent a lot of the day in the car. We had a fantastic lesson that night with Mei and Jenny in a members home. Seeing how far these two have come, especially Mei from being Buddhist to now being so dedicated to God and understanding His plan for us. It makes me so happy, I can't imagine how happy our Heavenly Father is that two of His precious daughters entered His fold and are serving Him. :)

Saturday it was freezinggggg. And we had no appointments set for that day, so we spent a lot of time outside finding. I thought it would soften people's hearts of we looked super cold and miserable at their doorstep, but didn't work out as much as I thought it would. I kept thinking about how we could just be inside and warm, there's nothing we're accomplishing out here anyway. But we kept on going, and eventually ended up in a neighborhood we didn't even plan on going to because we had tracted all the streets we planned!! We ended up nearby a home of someone who used to be taught but due to not being able to be contacted was stopped teaching. We decided to knock on their door and they were there!! They let us in because it was cold, and we talked for a little bit, and have an appointment for Monday! That day we talked to a lot of people, and did some good, handed out a few copies of the book of mormon. But I think the Lord knew we needed to contact that family at that time. Putting us through the freezing cold might've been His was of seeing if we were loyal to Him and that he could trust us with the family to teach, then once he knew we were dedicated he led us to their door. Crazy how things ALWAYS work out great when we just go out and DO. I know the Lords hand is in the lives of His missionaries and it's His work not mine.

Sunday went well, I LOVE sacrament meeting. I regret any sacrament meetings I slept through in the past, I must've missed out on a lot of spiritual experiences. I urge all of you to try your hardest to go to church and focus on the savior during sacrament meeting, it makes a difference. Don't think about the lesson you have to teach in gospel principles that you just got told by your ward mission leader in a text you have to do (me), think about the savior and focus on your feelings and it makes a huge difference. The spirit is always there, you just have to recognize it.

Spiritual thought: In Moroni 10 verse 7 it says "deny not the power of God; for he worketh by power, according to the faith of the children of men." A few chapters earlier Moroni poses the question "has the day of miracles ceased" and he answers himself in Moroni 7:37 "Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angles appear and minister unto men; wherefore, if these things have ceases wo be unto the children of men, for it is because of unbelief, and all is vain". Studying the New Testament I've seen that constantly when the Savior performs miracles he always says it is because of their faith. "thy faith hath made thee whole", "O woman, great is they faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt", "Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee", "Go they way; they faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight". Theres many more examples. My thought is to follow the counsel of Moroni and "deny not the power of God". Don't put a limit on His power, I know He can do all things, it's only us who limit that because of our lack of faith. Trust that he can help you. Trust that he can help you overcome your despair. Trust that he can help you get through the trial you are going through. Trust that he will help you train a brand new missionary, when you don't even know what you are doing yourself!! And after you trust him, and exercise your faith in Him. Miracles come. God can perform miracles among you through your faith. One more comforting quote from the savior. Mark 5:36, "Be not afraid, only believe".

Fun stuff:
-Elder Chinbaatar teaches me some Mongolian, and this week he told me when I said something that I "sound like Mongolian people when they drink vodka"
-on the topic of drunk people we had a drunk person come into sacrament meeting, and we tried helping him out, but he ended up needing to be removed from the building and driven home....
-the lady who invited us to her family's Thanksgiving dinner served her mission in Scottsdale/Mesa Arizona
-our fridge is PACKED with Thanksgiving leftovers
-a semi truck blew over on a freeway near our house on Thursday....its SO WINDY
-also I was driving through lots of wind and snow Saturday night-angels saved me

Pictures: my district on Thanksgiving, I made friends with a chicken, I made friends with two GIANT dogs too, We have a glass table so I bought expo markers and it's great.
