11 December 2018 - I'm transferring to...DENVER

Hey everyone!!

Sike!! I'm not going to Denver, Denver isn't even in my mission hahaha. Transfers are tomorrow though.....IM STAYING IN CHEYENNE IN CORNERSTONE!!! AND I'M STAYING WITH MY CHILD. Me and Elder Chinbaatar are both here until January 23 (at least I'd love to stay longer) and we are both super stoked about it. I love it here in cornerstone and it's pretty much becoming my home ward, it'll be hard to leave. Glad there's still work here for Elder Milius to do!!

Last Wednesday we went out knocking doors in the FREEZING cold. We seem to find more kind people, because they feel bad that we are out freezing out faces off. Although there's still some funny people....one lady said it was "too cold" and closed the door. We both kinda just laughed we didn't understand, too cold to talk about Jesus? Too cold for you to let us in? We knew it was cold idk why she told us? Christmas time is great though, people seem to be more friendly and even when they aren't interested in hearing about our the church, we can share with them the light the world initiative and not many people get upset when we talk about trying to serve people :)

We had district council Thursday morning and had breakfast together at the senior couples home in our district, because it was our last one before transfers. I don't remember what we talked about but the French toast was fantastic... Afterwards we went to the retirement community as we always do to do service. A lady there got upset with me because I didn't know someone's name, and "I should know everybody because I've been here so long". I flipped in on her and told her she doesn't even know my name, and disagreed and said my name is Jimmy. (Jimmy neutron is the nickname they gave me when I got here back in August).

Friday was a good day, we went out finding in the evening, lots of friendly people. Also I'm perfecting my skill of sliding on ice on the sidewalk. That night we had a fantastic lesson with Mei and Jenny (recent converts). We were teaching about the gospel of Jesus Christ and Mei went off about how much she is grateful for Jesus Christ and how she started talking about how we are here and God is there but Jesus is the bridge for us to get to God! It was amazing! I taught her how Christ is the mediator and she kept telling us how much she loves Him. My mind just went back to where I first met her. Mei didn't know who Jesus Christ was. She was Buddhist and kinda knew who God was because her daughter, but we taught her the true nature of God and who Jesus Christ is. And now she can feel HIS love and understands who he is and AGH!! I am so happy. THAT is why I came on my mission, to help people come to Jesus Christ, and I've never seen someone come so far to come unto Him.

Saturday was our "car fast" day so we spent a lot of time walking. That morning we felt like going over to try to contact Relph. We started teaching him last week, but when we went back last Monday for our return appointment he wasn't there. We stopped by a couple other mornings but weren't able to find a time where he was home. Well we decided to walk over to his home. (which btw is pretty far for walking, it would've made more sense to me to not waste time walking when he might not even be there, and just drive by the next morning). Well we went, and HE WAS HOME. He let us in and we taught him some more. He read/listened to the book of mormon and had some questions. We also found out that some mornings he has doctors appointments, but we know when he doesn't now so we should be able to contact him better. I know the spirit guided us, I just know it. If I was in charge of this work, I wouldve thought a better use if our time would be tracting some doors nearby our apartment and probably would've had no success....good thing I am not in charge :). Another cool experience happened that day. The holy ghost made Elder Chinbaatars nose bleed. We were walking in a neighborhood and knocked on someone's door but they didn't answer. As we were walking away Elder Chinbaatars nose started bleeding randomly. We were near the bishops house so we walked there and knocked on his door and told him I punched him. He let us in and gave him a tissue, and us some hot chocolate. On the way back we saw the person we tried to contact outside chopping wood!! What are the chances we would spend the perfect amount of time at the bishops that we would be walking past as he was outside...hmm....

Sunday was fantastic. It was fast and testimony meeting because last Sunday was stake conference. Last fast Sunday I tried really hard to get Elder Chinbaatar to share his testimony but was unsuccessful. He doesn't feel comfortable with his English. He was the same this week and refused, but towards the end he went up with his book of mormon! He shared Ether 12:27 "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." He added his testimony after he shared the scripture and it was so powerful. I know the spirit of his testimony peirced many hearts in that congregation. Multiple people afterwards came up to him and thanked him for his testimony.

Monday was average. In the evening we went to a neighborhood where tons of people have gates in their front yard. It was weird we didn't know if there was a dog in the front yard, or if we should listen to the no trespassing signs. Then I wondered if Jesus would be stopped by a gate....and we had no fear haha. When people asked me if I could read the sign I'd just ask them what it said. Wasn't lying I just asked them a question... Also that night we had a great lesson with some members about following the prophet. For some reason that night my testimony just grew so much of the special witness of christ that the prophets and apostles have, and listening to them testify of Him is my favorite thing ever.

Spiritual thought: Why light the world? Why spend time serving others. Well for me it is the small way I can give back to my Savior Jesus Christ for what he did for me. So far in my life He has helped me in so many ways and I will never be able to express in words my gratitude and how much I love my Savior Jesus Christ. And I will never be able to give back equally for way He did for me. But somehow a small way to give back is by helping those He loves. Matthew 25 verse 35-36 the Lord is talking to righteous people. "For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.". The righteous go on to basically say, what are you talking about, when did we do that? And the Lord says this in verse 40." Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." The Book of Mormon teaches something similar in mosiah 2:17 "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." I know that the Lord is pleased, and grateful when we serve each other. The spirit testified the truthfulness of this to me. A day will come when we meet the savior Jesus Christ. I hope he tells me "thank you for serving me, by serving THEM". Give to the one who has given you everything, by giving to others.

Fun stuff:
-on car fast day it was 40 degrees and I was HOT I was sweating....its bad I'm CHANGING...not really though the 10 degrees with 0 degree wind chill still is torture
-Also on car fast day when I was miserably walking around with my unhealthy body, I saw TWO CORGIS. One smiling at me from a car, another trying to kill me in its front yard...tender mercies from the Lord lifting my spirits... thanks Katy
-I took Elder Chinbaatar to a Mongolian grill in town (it was fantastic, you fill a bowl and they cook it on a huge circular stove with swords basically) ANYWAY it was NOT Mongolian apparently, they had Chinese decorations all over and Elder Chinbaatar was mad
-I don't know if I mentioned this before, but Elder Chinbaatars dad is a champion boxer in Mongolia, and Elder Chinbaatar boxes too. It's kinda scary I'm pretty sure he could kill me. Apparently he knows who to wrestle too and was showing me some moves and threw me over his body and kneed me Really hard in a place you don't want to be kneed. He did it on accident....it was bad though
-me and Elder Chinbaatar call each other buduunee

Pictures:
-these people have a legit wolf, it's like disabled somehow and walks funny, but it's a WOLF
-He is the light of the world
-super cool family that wanted to take a picture with me in case I left but I'M STAYING:)
-shout out to everyone who has sent me Christmas packages I love you more than I love lightsabers and Bigfoot slippers!
