15 January 2019 - Elder Chinbaatar II/Elder Chinbaatars

Howdy partners,

(the subject is because I didn't get a replacement tag for my tag I lost at the chiuahaha farm until Friday. So I've been wearing Elder Chinbaatars when we go out and I need a coat on and stuff....i think we confused some people)

Last Tuesday was great!! We drove down to the temple early in the morning and it was amazing as always. And since we were in Fort Collins we had two options for lunch. Cafe Rio or canes....we went to canes and it was pretty much heaven on earth after leaving actual heaven on earth (the temple). It was a great day, and we had a lesson that night which went fantastic. Good things happen when you go to the temple.

Wednesday was a FULL day. 2 meetings, district council and our ward correlation meeting. Then we had service and contacted a few people. Pretty average day.

We spent a lot of time Thursday out finding. It went great we told ourselves we would talk to EVERYONE we saw and miracles happened. One girl we talked to told us about her neighbor, Vincent, who is really struggling when we asked if she knew anyone who could use our message. We walked around some more and then came back to our car and we saw this kid walking near this girl's house. We stopped him and it was VINCENT. We talked with him and shared a scripture about Jesus christ being the light of the world and gave it to him. And pretty much just told him no matter what God loves him....i don't know if we will be back to teach him or if he is ready for that yet. But in that moment I think God sent two Elders to tell him that God loves him...thats why we were there. Another lady we talked to as she was getting her mail and she told us we showed up at the perfect time. She opened up to us about things going on in her life and started crying in her driveway. I firmly belive the Lord places his missionaries in the path of those who need Him every single day. It's up to us as missionaries to talk to those people.

Friday was a good day. We met the friendliest grumpy guy. We knocked on his door and asked him a question. We asked how in a world of darkness and distractions, where is he able to find peace. He told us that was a dumb question and that it doesn't make sense.... But then we told him we asked that question because we know that we can find peace in this world through Jesus Christ or something like that. Somehow we kept talking and ended up talking about Elder Chinbaatars name and why we were in cheyenne and we became friends, even got his name. He said bye and told us to have a good night. Crazy how the spirit can change someone like that when you start testifying of Jesus christ!

Saturday we went out to walk around and contact/talk to everyone we saw. It was a failure, nobody answered their door and we only saw like 2 people. Both of which shut us down hard. We walked back to our car discouraged and humbled ourselves and just prayed and asked the Lord where people are that we need to talk to. We then made a decision to go to another neighborhood, and we parked near a bunch of mailboxes. A guy pulled up to get his mail and we saw him, so we were then obligated to talk to him because what if he was the REASON we were in that Neighborhood. We got out of the car and we started talking and it was awesome! We shared a scripture with him, and he was humming and saying Amen as we were reading it. It was great, we're going back this week to talk more with him. The Lord definitely places us and directed us to where we needed to be.

Church was fantastic! Story time: the first week in the mission field our president told us we had to make an invitation to report on. My first invitation was to a Less active member we saw while walking around. I invited him to church and he agreed that it was time for him to go back. Well he never came. But Sunday, he was there.....WITH A FRIEND. After Elders quorum he introduced us to his friend, Nate, who is interested in the church. We ran to the car and grabbed a Book of Mormon and set up an appointment, it was AWESOME. The member said that was his first time going to Priesthood in 20 years....that was an amazing thing to see. I think both of these people will have their lives changed by the gospel :).

Monday we had lots of appointments, which was good!! But not a ton of time finding so no super fun stories, other than one of the most spiritual things to experience is hearing someone who can barely speak English, recite the first vision. Elder Chinbaatar shared the account of the first vision in one lesson and everyone got quiet and focused on him...even the three year old girl dressed up as Cinderella.

Spiritual thought: In Elders quorum on Sunday me and Elder Chinbaatar got up before it ended and asked everyone to text us a name of someone they wish was sitting with them right now. Before we asked that question we shared our testimonies of Missionary work, and how we are called of God to teach and they can trust us. I also shared this quote from President Eyring which is amazing. "Why should I speak to anyone about the gospel who seems content? What danger is there to them or to me if I do or say nothing? Well, the danger may be hard to see, but it is real, both for them and for us. For instance, at some moment in the world to come, everyone you will ever meet will know what you know now. They will know that the only way to live forever in association with our families and in the presence of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, was to choose to enter into the gate by baptism at the hands of those with authority from God. They will know that the only way families can be together forever is to accept and keep sacred covenants offered in the temples of God on this earth. And they will know that you knew. And they will remember whether you offered them what someone had offered you." That quote was long so I won't say much. But my invitation to those who know the gospel of Jesus Christ is not to procrastinate sharing it with anyone. And those who aren't or aren't active I testify that there is true joy in this gospel please just come and see.

Fun stuff:
-we met someone who said their name was "Mr. Wilderness"
-we made friends with a cat named kitty. When we stopped petting it, it started stalking us....we'd turn around and it's be peeking at us from around a building
-I dyed my hair blue once....its helped me on the Mish. I've met two Chicas with pink hair and BOTH use it as an excuse to not come to church. "people will look at me weird if I walk into church with my pink hair" ahahah that doesn't work with elder Milius
