Hello my brothers and sisters!
Me and Elder Buchanan are doing great here in Riverton. Both of us are working our tails off and every night pass out and barely have the energy to write in our journals and brush our teeth!
Last Friday was full of miracles. First miracle, we were helping an old lady put up a light on her porch....I accidentally dropped a very important piece into the snow and dirt. I looked around FORVER digging through dirt and snow with freezing hands for this piece. Me and Elder Buchanan decided to say a prayer. Not even joking, immediately after I found the piece!! Then right after that we were going to go contact people. On of them was a girl named Marie who we met miraculously last week. We texted her that morning and asked if we could go over around 7:30 but she never responded, so she was one of the people we were going to go contact. Immediately after we ended the prayer we got a text from her saying "sure".... This was 30 min before 7:30. We scrambled to find someone to go with us and we did and the lessons was powerful!! We met with her again yesterday and taught part of the plan of salvation and its so great!! We have a lot of hope for her.
On Saturday we didn't use our car at all and we talked to SO MANY people. We got a few people we are going to go back to and try to teach. I felt so great at the end of the day even though I was freezing, and my legs were tired. It's true, the key to missionary work is WORK.
On Sunday we had an appointment with a guy that we've been teaching and he texted us asking if we could move our appointment back. The appointment was at 4, and we had an appointments from 5 to the rest or the night. So we said that we could do 4:30 and he said it didn't work for him because he was stuck at the laundromat. We thought about it....then texted him and asked if we could meet him there. So we had a lesson at the laundromat and according to Elder Buchanan that is the best lesson we've ever had with him. He really opened up to us and we read with him from Alma 32 and testified to him exactly what he needed.
Monday we had a "Zone meeting" there are two districts in the Riverton Zone, Riverton District (my district) and lander district. They've always don't a "joint District Council" every transfer but now since this is a brand new Zone it was our whole zone meeting together! It was great, miracles are going to happen here in Riverton Zone with the FIRST EVER missionaries of Riverton Zone. After that we went out and talked to a LOT of people again just walking down the street. When we have faith sufficient that the Lord will place people in our path when we pray and ask Him, He really does. And how I mentioned earlier we had a fantastic lesson with Marie that night.
Spiritual thought: On Monday at our meeting, a member of the Riverton stake presidency was there and talked with us. He had a son go somewhere in Asia, I'm pretty sure China. He showed us the word for Repentance, and translated back to English it means "heart always/everyday change". I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have because of Jesus Christ to repent and change. And I do it every single day, repenting every day truly changes your life. I would encourage all of you to repent daily. I also know of the inexpressible joy and sweet peace repentance can bring when you hold onto something that you don't have to. Christ already paid the price, lay it down at His feet. Change your heart and become a true disciple of Jesus Christ and the sweet peace is worth anything it takes to get there.
Fun stuff:
-I drive a Tacoma now and I like it...
-we were walking down a path and ran into what people call here "park rangers". Just a bunch of drunk people, one guy pretended like he was holding a rifle and told us to keep walking, another guy said they were breaking bread, and one lady told us to pray for them. So we prayed for them!
-Saturday I slipped HARD on ice, and went flying down and my legs flew and knocked down Elder Buchanan to the ground next to me. It was hilarious and painful
Pictures:
-repentance
-I bought sour patch kids cereal. I love cereal and I love candy, but I think they should stay separate
-picture from transfer day with elder Bolton and Elder Ward
-I ate some of this spicy chocolate. It doesn't taste spicy it just feels like pain...like a bunch of little fire ants bitting every part of the inside of your mouth
-I made a GIANT OREO
