Howdy

Last Wednesday was exciting. The ENTIRE mission wasn't allowed to drive their cars because there was a blizzard coming in. The storm didnt touch Riverton, so we just had to walk around all day in the cold....BUT it was fun. We were on exchanges with out zone leaders and I got to spend time with Elder Garcia (my district leader for a while on Cheyenne).

Thursday was a frustrating day in the morning. We had 2 lessons that we were really excited for that fell through! We said a prayer to help us calm down and later in the day things started getting better! At one point we had to use the bathroom....like really bad....SO we were driving to the stake center that was nearby. Somehow I missed the turn, took the long way, then drove around the parking lot TWICE before I parked. I wasn't sure why I was taking so long to drive around, but as soon as we walked in there were these two ladies there. One needed a blessing and said we were just the people they were looking for. They said they were on the other side of the church (at a women's activity) and thought maybe there was someone on the other side who could give a blessing. And the Lord sent US, perfect timing because we took the long way and drove around the building twice. Then later we saw another miracle! We were knocking doors, and had somewhere to be at 8pm. We had about 20 minutes and finished a street. We decided to go down one street and had to choose a side. We chose a side, started going down, met some great people but nobody that was interested. The VERY last door we knocked on for the day a lady answered and let us in. She said she wasn't interested but would let us give her our thing. So we taught her and her kids (18 year old, his girlfriend, and 8 year old). She still didn't seem interested but afterwards she said we could come back and share a lesson. Her 8 year old told us to come back tomorrow!!

So our lesson Friday night was great! One really cool point was when we asked "what if we told you there was someone who knew and understands exactly how you feel" and she said "I would believe that". It was SO COOL to see her faith in Jesus Christ. We invited her to church and she came to church Sunday with her 8 year old! Super great to see how the Lord lead us to her, and the Spirit worked on her. She went from Thursday to no interested, to a lesson on Friday, and at church on Sunday!

Saturday was great, we left in the morning to go walking. The walking was tiring, but we talked to more than 20 people, and contacted all 3 of the people we were going to contact as we went out! (usually doesn't happen). Also that day we saw these 3 pretty young kids walking. I felt like offering a Book of Mormon, which was kinda random to just ask these 3 kids, BUT I did and they youngest one said "YES!" He said he used to go to church with a friend before he moved here and doesn't go anymore, but he still likes to read the Book of Mormon! The Lord knew what we needed to offer to them.

Sunday was fun, I gave a talk which was fun especially because we had people we were teaching that were there! Although I think I spoke too long and gave the high councilmen to little time...oops. Monday was GREAT, I was on exchanges in my area with an Elder that I served with in Cheyenne, Elder Skinner. We were able to start teaching a new person, which was super fun. This guy has a lot of issues but told us he knows God is there and he needs to do more to get closer to God.

Twas a good week!!

Spiritual thought: Just a short thought from some of what I shared in sacrament meeting on Sunday. We truly are the only "true and living church". The Lord said it himself. And we really are "living", we receive revelations often from God himself. This is not man's church it is truly the church of Jesus Christ and he leads it through out prophet Russell m. Nelson. Soon we will have General Conference, I know the words that will be spoken are from the Lord. It is more than just speakers, it is modern scripture. Looking back through my notes from last October, something from ever speaker I felt was directed to me. I know our prophet speaks the will of the Lord and if we listen trusting he will speak to us, with a sincere heart intending to act and DO something with what we hear, we will hear something from the Lord to us.
