9 April 2019 - Super Bowl for missionaries

Hola todos,

We had SO many meetings this last week. Started off with our zone meeting, on Wednesday. Each month the 2 districts in our zone meet together for a council and set goals and stuff down in Lander. It was fun, we truly are seeing miracles here. It was made a zone just last January and since then amazing things have happened!

Thursday was a super fun day. The other Elders in Riverton cover the YSA branch, and had set up to go on campus at CWC and sit at a booth. So we tagged along and that was super fun. We talked to like 60 people, and most of them were super friendly and willing to talk. We possibly were talked to so much because we tempted people with cookies but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Then that night we drove the long drive to Casper because Friday was Zone Conference.

Zone conference was amazing, we talked a lot about the Holy Ghost and receiving revelation. We had our interviews with President after zone conference but zone Conference ended at about 3 and our interviews were around 5. So we hopped in our car and went out and talked to people! We went to five guys and then drove all the way home and got back to Riverton pretty late.

Saturday was great! EARLY in the morning there was a baptism for these two people in a different ward. I have taught them once before a while ago, and it was amazing to see how the gospel had changed them. Then we had general Conference which was amazing as usual! And after the second session on Saturday, there was ANOTHER baptism for this sweet 17 year old girl. Then finished off the day with Priesthood session, and going out finding talking to everyone we saw!

Sunday again was full of general Conference. Pretty much all the time before or between sessions was spent driving around inviting everyone we saw to conference. Then Monday we finally had time to get back out and work without meetings!! It felt great to walk around again and just talked about Jesus Christ!

Spiritual thought: I was reading in Jacob 5 recently, and I was marking love, obedience, and diligence. What stuck out to me was how much love the Lord has for each of us. He truly has done and is doing ALL HE CAN for us and for our salvation. We have scriptures, we have loving prophets, we have missionaries that are sent all over the world, and greatest of all Jesus Christ has already performed the Atonement. It is there for us to use, and he pleads for us to turn to Him and accept His outstretched hand. I love Tad R. Callisters talk where he explained a guy who jumped out of an airplane, realized it was a bad idea but the law of gravity was against him. The parachute on his back represented the Atonement that could save him, which didn't go against the law of gravity, but worked with it. The thought I liked was the person still had to choose to pull the rip cord. And how silly would it be to jump out of an airplane, have a parachute, but choose NOT to pull the rip cord. That's how silly it would be to choose not to follow Jesus Christ and use His Atonement.

Fun stuff:
-we met these 2 interesting ladies, one of which asked me if I could cremate here when I asked if there's anything I could do for her
-all the missionaries in my district were watching Conference at the stake center, and in between sessions we all went out and got fast food and brought it back and ate it, it was glorious
-the drive to and from Casper were for zone conference were probably just as spiritual as zone conference was....yiu can listen to a lot of great talks/devotionals in 2 hours
