Hola!
Elder Milius has a good week this last week. Last Tuesday was a fun day, our district hung out and went bowling. We had to drive to Lander because Riverton doesn't have a bowling alley, so it took pretty much all preparation day. That night we had a great lesson with a guy named Ryan. We've met with him for a while but recently he's been keeping his commitment to read the Book of Mormon and it's really changed him. He has come to love the scriptures and has been able to apply it to him and his life. He even took a picture holding his book of mormon with us so he could post it on Facebook before we left! Then later that night we met these 2 drunk guys, but they said they wanted to talk but were going to McDonald's. So we met them at McDonald's and talked to these 2 guys for like 30 minutes as they ate fries.
Wednesday we went in exchanges with our zone leaders. I was with Elder Seamons all day, and twas a fun time.
Thursday was a great as well. The weather was being super weird. We were walking around and it was cloudy, then rainy, then there was hail, then it was windy. Super weird and I miss spring time in Arizona. But we had success I think because people thought we were crazy for walking around in that weather, so they listened!
Monday was a cool day. I was on exchanges with Elder Michelsen. That morning we met with these people that we met a couple days before. Saturday we drove up to this lady doing yard work and offered our message and surprisingly she said yes. So we went over and went in and they weren't as interested as we thought. They were really friendly and really nice but wanted to convince us that the Book of Mormon wasn't true. Luckily I've revived a spiritually witness that that book is true and no power of earth or hell can take it from me :). So at the end of the lesson he actually invited us to pray about the Book of Mormon again and to read the Bible. I 100% accepted his invitation then asked him to do the same. It was a pretty good lesson. We had a cool experience later that day as well. We went to contact this person and nobody was answering, but then his neighbor came outside and yelled at us and said "hey if you wanna talk to somebody come talk to me". That was a pretty cool miracle to see the Lord guide us to where we needed to be, then guiding him to us.
Spiritual thought: Okay, let's get real. There are two things God take very seriously. How someone gets into this world, and how someone gets out of it. We know this from the scriptures, sexual sin and murder are pretty bad sins....well very bad. When you think about it, it's pretty amazing that he has blessed us, His children, with the ability to create children. A power that God has, to create, He has given to us, and especially to women. Mother's day was this last Sunday and we all were blessed with the opportunity to think about how amazing mothers are, and they really are amazing! A cool quote by Jeffrey R. Holland "No love in mortality comes closer to approximating the pure love of Jesus Christ than the selfless love of a devoted Mother has for her child". Mothers truly are one of the closest things we have to God in mortality. With their love and the power God has given them. I have 4 grandmother's that I know and they have each truly made an impact in my life. And I am grateful for them. And above all my own mother has been there for me always, and really is an example of a Christlike person. Probably the most Christlike person in my entire life. I love her and I mean it when I say I am who I am, because of her.
Fun stuff:
-we walked down this sketchy alleyway that I probably wouldn't have walked down before....but I have my Mongolian boxer with me so I felt safe
-we're helping these people paint a mural at city park. Elder seamons was mad that he got some paint on his leg so I said "here let me wipe it off" and then started using my paintbrush to "wipe off" the pain while adding even more paint
-we met his drunk guy that started telling us how awesome it is that Jesus could turn water into wine
