Dear people that read my emails, thank you for reading them you rock.
Last Tuesday was a Bueno day, we have this really nice guy we're teaching named Ryan. He's native and wears this shirt often that says "The creator loves me". The Arapahoe and Shoshoni people here all refer to God as "the creator". Anyway this guy is super cool but has been out of town for a funeral, but he called us Tuesday and we're we're able to set up an appointment THAT NIGHT. He mentioned how he told his family members at the funeral that he's been meeting with us and that it's been helping him cope with his mother's passing (which happened a while back). It was pretty cool of him to say that and realize we truly are making a difference in this guy's life. He even posted on Facebook a couple weeks ago that he enjoyed a phone call he had with us!
Wednesday was May first and we woke up to EVERYTHING COVERED IN SNOW. I THOUGHT I WAS IN WYOMING NOT ANTARCTICA. It had been snowing a little the day before but it must've dumped the night before everything was covered. But by the end of the day everything had pretty much melted. We spent the day helping move 2 people and had some Riverton Zone meeting stuff which was fun.
Not too much super exciting stuff happened until Saturday. It was our mission-wide car fast that we do every first Saturday of the month. Sadly we didn't have too many appointments so all we had to do was contacting people and finding sooooo LOTS of walking. We also got a call during the day that somebody needed help moving some stuff in their storage unit....the storage unit was out of our area so it was an even farther walk... BUT we're missionaries and we love to help! So we walked 100000 miles Saturday and felt happy but DEAD by the end of the day.
Monday was an exciting day, we drove down to Lander for our Zone meeting! That was fun as always and I broke a board in have with my hand so that's always fun. We got home and had not too much time to do much between our appointments and meetings. But we had to talk to at least 2 more people between 7:30 and 8. We went outside but didn't see a single soul. But we just walked and ended up at this pizza hut that we've never been to before....and TWO people walked past us as we were randomly in this parking lot. The Lord always blesses us with what we need, as long as we just go out and show him we're trying. Then we were late for our meeting, but we're withing walking distance so we walked fast....then it turned into a run....then we ended up sprinting to our meeting.
Spiritual thought: I was thinking about Jesus Christ and how He is literally the center of EVERYTHING. If I look down at my tag and look at the name of the church He is literally in the center, it's even in bigger font. Jesus Christ came in the meridian of time. We refer to our time based on Him. (B.C.-before christ and A.D.-Anno Domini, which is Latin for "year of our Lord"). The Book of Mormon is centered on Jesus Christ. Our church meetings are centered on Christ, the most important thing we do there (partake of the sacrament) is because of Him. Nothing in the temples would work without Jesus Christ, our families couldn't be together forever without Jesus Christ. None of the ordinances would work without Him. When we say "the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost" Jesus Christ is in the center! There's many more examples to give, but the point is therfore what? Therefor we must make Him the center of OUR lives. And I testify as we do that, our lives are happier. Lasting joy comes through Him, and a certain peace comes through Him that can't come from anything else in this world. Jesus Christ is everything to me, I love Him and I know He loves me. I urge you to increase your relationship with Him, make Him the center of your life.
Fun stuff:
-we got home one night and our door was STUCK. It was getting close to 10pm and it was snowing and we were still trying to open our door. Elder Milius ended up breaking off the door handle and at that moment Elder Chinbaatar decided it was time to pray.....long story short, after the prayer we got the door open!
-Friday we were dead tired. We got home around 8 for Elder Chinbaatars language study and I accidentally fell asleep on the couch in my clothes. I woke up around 9:30 and went into the bedroom and found Elder Chinbaatar falling asleep on his is bed. He was still kinda awake and we decided to turn on a conference talk....the next thing I remember is waking up at 11:30 with the lights still on and a random talk still playing....
-I haven't had pineapple in a long time BUT some people had it for dinner yesterday and I was a happy Elder. I ate so much that my tongue is sore...
