Hello people

Sooooo, last Tuesday we had a lesson with this super cool girl that's been taught for a while. She had a good friend in the church and her friend invited her to help out with girls camp and stuff. And since she was helping with girls camp she wanted to know what the chufch was about so she could help teach the girls. Well girls camp had come and pass and she actually started attending a different chufch since she started meeting with us and we rekindled her faith in God....BUT this last lesson was great and she told us that she would come to church for the second hour because that was when YW was, but that she would go to her church first and skip our first hour. We were kinda bummed she wouldn't be there for sacrament meeting BUT she walked in on sunday and we were super stoked!

Wednesday was a long day. It was transfer day and we are the only elders in cheyenne with a car because the other Elders who had a car had it in the shop because an elder kicked it....SO we were the taxi to 6 companionships. But that night was refreshing, we had a lesson with this girl were teaching, Jamie, and we taught the Plan of Salvation. The next day she messaged us and thanked us for "teaching her what a loving Heavenly Father is". We really didn't focus on God's love that much, we just taught the Plan. But she recognized how much that plan showed God's love for her. Honestly I sometimes forget how much the plan of salvation must mean to someone who has never heard it before. It truly is an expression of God's love and desire for us to be happy. Awesome!

Cool experience on Thursday, we were walking around and ran into this girl named Sarah. Apparently she was a member and had had a terrible day and just wanted to be alone and smoke. But we talked to her for a little bit and told her we were there to help make her day better, we left her with our number. Then later we were walking around those apartments trying to find someone's apartment that we don't have the number for. So we were entering every building (that looked the same) and knocking the first door on the left. We ended up knocking on HER door. She didn't answer but her dad did who also is a member and said he's been struggling. I'm positive the Lord led us to these people who needed to know God cared about them. I'm super blessed to be God's hands :).

Friday we had a good lesson with our recent convert, Brian. He's amazing, we taught the Restoration and he's really been getting into studying the scriptures. He was getting so excited as we were showing him scriptures, especially in the Bible, which prophesy of the Apostasy and the Restoration. Again I take that for granted sometimes, the scriptures are amazing!

Saturday morning we had our "Stake Transfer Breakfast" which we have at the beginning of every transfer for the stake president and high councilman over missionary work to meet the new missionaries. I've been in this stake for SO long. But it was amazing and the high councilman over missionary work, who's awesome, invited Brian to come help and make crepes so he was there! They usually have all the new missionaries share their testimonies and all the ones going home share theirs as well. It's weird I've had 3 of my companions share their testimonies at this breakfast.

Sunday was good, that evening made me super happy! We met with one of our bishops and shared a lesson with his family. Then we talked about Brian and he told us how he's been meeting with him and he is receiving the aaronic Priesthood soon and they're working on getting him a calling and getting him to the temple. People in the church truly are amazing. And honestly it doesn't make sense how it works. Bishops, stake presidents, missiom presidents, missionaries give up SO much time and effort for the gospel. But things work and they end up happier and with more time for their family and it's just crazy how the Church even runs smoothly. I know without a doubt this is Christ's church, it wouldn't work if He wasn't in charge.

Monday was great. Miracle of Monday is Vanessa. A couple weeks ago we got our suits dry cleaned and this cool lady working there talked with us and told us she's actually the cousin of a bishop in town. Anyway we didn't offer our message or anything (fail on our part). But at church these two guys walked up to us and told us they talked to her when they went to get their stuff dry cleaned. Apparently she went off about how nice and amazing we were and how she lived talking with us and would love to feed us sometime. So they crossed their names off our dinner Calendar and told us to go back to the cleaners and talk to her. So Monday we went and got her number and everything. She told us how she had been having a bad day until we came in and also when we come over we can share a message, she told us she wouldn't make us come over without sharing anything!

Spiritual thought: I've recently been studying faith/fear/knowledge in the book of mormon. Just in the first couple chapters I have learned a lot with Nephi and his brothers. 1 Nephi 2:16 is one of my favorite verses. "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, being exceedingly young, nevertheless being large in stature, and also having great desires to know of the mysteries of God, wherefore, I did cry unto the Lord; and behold he did visit me, and did soften my heart that I did believe all the words which had been spoken by my father; wherefore, I did not rebel against him like unto my brothers." Lehi was a prophet and taught the same things to his sons, the thing that set Nephi apart from his brethren was his humility and faith in asking the Lord in prayer. Before he prayed and asked for a witness Nephi, laman, and lemuel were all in the same boat, finding it hard to believe the words their father was telling them. Later Nephis faith and humility to ask, leads him to learn and see and understand great mysteries, which is pretty cool. Faith truly is powerful. There is a reason it is the first principle of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Fun stuff:
-we mentioned how we both love grre chili enchiladas to this lady we're teaching and the next time we went over to teach her she had made us green chili enchiladas. And she even put olives on the side because she remembered that Elder Halladay doesn't like olives
-it was late one night and we were out switching Elders for exchanges. I was at a light and these kids pull up next to me with a loud car with loud music. I look over and wave and be friendly.....then inch up a little bit....then when the light turns green I punch it just a little. Let me tell you, these kids getting beat by me in a mini van drove them crazy. He was leaning out his window giving me the double bird, telling me not to wave at him ever again haha
-we went to wing shack on friday and I ate way to many wings but it made me happy

Pictures:
Only pictures I have this week are from last Tuesday. Free chick FIL a, of course I'm going to dress up like a cow
