9 July 2019 - This week was fire

Hello friends,

Transfer news! I'm staying here in Cheyenne with Elder Halladay until he finishes his mission. So that's good news should be fun times.

This last Wednesday was exciting! We met our new mission president, President Palmer, and he is great! He's from Gilbert and when we introduced our zone me, Elder Halladay, and Elder Bogle were all from Gilbert so that was fun. Right after we had Mongolian grill because Mongolian grill is fantastic. We'll it's fantastic when it goes in. Anyway right after that we had a lesson with Brian and he is doing amazing! I honestly love that man so much. Our next step is the Priesthood and the temple.

The 4th of July was a party. Early in the morning we had a pancake breakfast with one of our wards. That was great and someone we are teaching came and made a bunch of friends! It's so cool how random people just reach out and love this random girl theyve never met before. The rest of the day we had meetings and did some logistical stuff because knocking doors and trying to find people is supposed to work on holidays but it never does.... Then that night it was amazing. Whatever happened in my neighborhood was nothing compared to Wyoming. Because we're the only people with a car out of 6 sets of Elders in cheyenne righr now, we had to help switch some Elders for exchanges. So we were driving around after 9 and just everywhere there were fireoworks, especially at one point we got up on a hill and see all of Cheyenne just launching them.

Friday we had a cool time, we got taken out to eat at China buffet (why do I eat so much) by the stake patriarch. The food was good but we ended up having a super fun conversation about the gospel and we really enjoyed it.

Saturday someone called us in the morning saying they needed help unloading a deck and they literally needed help unloading a deak. Like stairs and a patio to place in front of a trailer, so that was fun. It's all good he paid us with ice cream. Then later we did splits for a little bit with these Elders. They were preparing for a baptism for this super cool guy named Leo (there will be some pictures of him, he's the best). So one had to stay with Leo helping set up at the church building and one had to go to a lesson they had planned, so I went to the lesson with one. It went well, and a member came with and took us to dairy queen (c'mon more ice cream). Then the baptism was great! 5 sets of missionaries went and all brought someone they are teaching. The super awesome person we were teaching, Jamie, came and loved it. It made her super excited for her baptism coming up! Leo loves all the missionaries so he offered to take us all out to a steakhouse. Us and two other elder companionships took up the offer and he insisted on us ordering very expensive steaks and ordering desert. So I was stuffed by the end of the night but worth it.

Sunday was great, someone we are teaching went up and shared her testimony on how she found out why Jesus is called the Savior, it's because he saves. And how she knows this church is true and the book of mormon is true! Then right after we had a lesson with her at a members home and dinner. It was a miracle, she got a little stressed out and didn't like all the attention on her and said she wanted to go home. So the members saved the day and calmed her down then invited all the kids out and we taught the kids while she was there and it worked perfectly.

Yesterday was another packed but fantastic day! We drove down to FOCO in the morning to clean the temple and it was great as always. This was the second time I got to go clean the temple and it's definitely a blessing to just be in the temple for hours. I can't deny that it is the house of God. That night we had a District Council at the bird farm and had a bonfire. Twas good, we all wrote out weaknesses from this last transfer on a piece of paper and threw it into the fire then had a testimony meeting. It's been a good week!

Spiritual thought: This is kinda the thought I shared last night with my testimony but I know the book of mormon is true. I recently finished reading it through again and I know without a doubt that it is true. Because of that I know this church is true, I know Christ is at the head and that priesthood is real. Because I know all that I know that the God who created worlds without number and this world which we live, who parted the Red Sea, who is so big and so great. That same God is the God who called me to this work, that Jesus Christ is the one who I represent. Sometimes I feel small because of how hit and grand this plan is and eternity is, but there's comfort in the fact that Christ performed the Atonement for me and understands me perfectly. I'm so grateful to be on a mission because what I'm doing right now is what matters, saving ordinances, the gospel, this is what matters. This is what we're here for.

Fun stuff:
-I forgot to mentioned but a few weeks ago we switched out out truck for a mini van because we taxi around so many missionaries. Also Elder Halladay doesn't drive his last transfer so I'm driving a mini van now!
-there's a guy in my bishopric that went to highland high school and told elder Halladay that Perry stinks
-I also met a girl that went to mountain view and graduated in 2014, small world
