23 September 2019 - Monday Monday!

Hey happy Monday!

This week has been good and I'm super excited for next week, we have like 3 meetings with Elder Wong coming up which is going to be fantastic!

Last Tuesday was a good day, we were able to watch President Nelson speak off Facebook. Lucked out being able to find it on Facebook and having this be on our preparation day! The rest of the day was good, we were able to get a lot done in the few hours we had that evening.

Wednesday we were on exchanges with Elder Bullock and Elder Tate. Me and Elder Bullock hung out all day, twas a good time. We started off the morning with district Council (Elder Bullock is the district leader) and it was good. After that we spent some time at the bird farm then we had dinner, a lesson, and a lesson to finish the night! The days when you go straight from activity to activity with no time wasted is the best. Both of the lessons we had to do something different than we planned, and even though we had only been companions for that day we were able to work in unity and follow the spirit to teach exactly what needed to be taught. It's cool how easily we were able to teach together even thought we had been comps for only that day, and it was a lesson we had NO plan for....the spirit is pretty great.

Thursday was exciting. We drove up to Scottsbluff Nebraska for a District Council. It was super good, and fun to see some missionaries I don't see very often. After the meeting we got lunch and went on exchanges for a couple hours. I was with Elder Shellman, who actually goes home next transfer, and it was good. We just talked and went around contacting people. One lady who started crying when we told her we could get her some help to clean her house. It's pretty cool to be the Lord's hands and be the arm of mercy he extends.

Friday we had dinner with this awesome family, who are Converts to the church. They have a long amazing story about how they found the chufch and eventually got baptized, but one key part is a less active member talking about eternal families in Walmart. This less active man still struggles and they were recently able to get a hold of him. He derived through Cheyenne every Wednesday for his job so they are going to meet ejth him every week. We were sbke to talk about scriptures that could help him, also one of these days they want to bring us with. It's cool to see how this man blessed thus entire family by just talking about the church, now this family is doing all they can to help him. After that we drove 30 minutes out of town (which is still in our area) and made some visits with a member. Both visits were to 2 old ladies. The first is always stuck in her home taking care of her husband who had a stroke and is super disabled. We shared a message, but really she just needed someone to talk to. The next lady we taught about God's love for her, strange because we don't usually just teach that. But I'm confident it's what the spirit prompted us to do and I hope of made a difference for her.

This week was a day shorter and I don't have much time today anyway because we leave for Colorado this afternoon. But even though I didnt have too much to write, remember this: I do know that this church is true, that we have a prophet on the earth today, and that God has a plan for us. I also know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know that because He is mine, and I've felt the hope, joy, and leave that comes by using and accepting His Atonement. This is all true, if it wasn't I wouldn't be out on a mission.

Spiritual thought: I did an activity this week in my personal study and read the last words of Nephi and of Moroni. I thought about how I will feel when I meet them at the judgment seat and what I will be able to say to them about how I used the book of mormon. In the last worlds of Nephi, 2 Nephi 33:15, Nephi says "for thus hath the Lord commanded me, and I must obey". Watching the new Book of Mormon videos I've thought a lot about how amazing Nephi is. These worlds truly show how obedient and righteous Nephi was. Seeing the whole story of Nephi you see how blessed gee was, but in sure there were times when Nephi couldn't see the blessings in store. But he always put his trust in the Lord, and it was worth it. I know, although it's hard sometimes to see, blessings always come when we are obedient to what the Lord commands.

Fun stuff:
-we went to dinner with thus family and in their basement they have the COOLEST model train set I've ever seen. And it wasn't like just little toy trains it was like thousands of dollars worth of model trains in their basement. Cheyenne has a lot of train lovers if you didn't know
-a flying Gatorade bottle cracked a window this week....this one is a long story
-when helping someone move there was thus tub labeled "stuffed animals". Well I picked it up and it was HEAVY, so naturally I passed it to Elder Huntsman. We got to the moving truck and Elder Huntsman checked the box to see what it was and he said "oh that's not stuffed animals" and closed the box. Before elder Huntsman could tell me not to look I immediately went and opened it to look as well, and saw lots and lots of intersting magazines....i closed it and agreed that those were not stuffed animals.
