Hey friends

It's been a good week! Last Wednesday I was on an exchange with Elder Bullock. He's a cool guy, I went on an exchange with him a while back in Cheyenne when he was my district leader, so that was pretty fun! Had a lesson at 9:30 in the morning with someone which was interesting because of how early it was, but it was a nice way to start off our day! Had a lesson with this freshman later in the day, his friend who was a member forgot and didn't show up but he still did! Talked about Christ's life, from birth to His death.

Friday we met up with some missionaries from Casper and went on an exchange through the rest of the day to around lunch time Saturday. I was with Elder Farris and we had a really good time. Had a good time. We saw these people playing volleyball at the park and wanted to ask if we could play. We walked by and we're trying to figure out how to ask without being (I think any way would be weird, we were definitely not dressed for volleyball). As we were discussing, one guy said "hey do you want to play?". Pretty legit. Played a couple games and met a lot of people. They said they are there every Friday evening so we'll be back!

Saturday was good. For dinner we ran to a smoothie place called inta juice. Ended up talking with a couple of the people working there. This girl who took my order mentioned how she went on a "mission trip" with her church to the wind river reservation to help out some people out there. Kinda cool, I went on a mission to the wind river reservation too up in Riverton! We talked for a bit and she knew a lot of members from school....but then people walked in and she needed to take there order and we didn't get to set a time to teach her or anything. We'll see what happens. Something that is cool that I see every day: people who are kind to us and willing to talk ALWAYS have a connection to the church somehow. Truly being an example and "standing as witnesses of God" always makes a difference in people's lives. I wish I realized in high school that my job wasn't to fit in, as a disciple of Christ I was supposed to stand out.

On Monday we had a cool miracle. These two friends we've been meeting with after school for a while brought another friend with them. So this member and his two buddies and two missionaries were at the park talking about faith in Christ. Pretty cool for the member being such a baller missionary to his friends, and pretty cool that these two high schoolers were willing to take time out of their day to talk about Christ.

Fun stuff:
-we use our missiom President office for weekly planning sometimes on Thursdays. So last Thursday we were doing weekly planning, and we had some popcorn. Friday morning we got a text from our president "BTW do you know who left popcorn all over the floor in my office?"....oof
-this dude opened up his garage and a dog bolted out. We ended up talking to the guy and he had no idea where the dog came from, it wasn't his. The fog ended up following us for a little bit and actually hopped in our van with us...
-there's a famous restaurant in Severance Colorado called "Bruce's". They are famous for their Rocky mountain oysters. But turns out they have 3 types of oysters: bull, Buffalo, and lamb. Our server recommended the Buffalo testicles. Not bad at all tbh.

Spiritual thought: Alma 19:23, "the Lord had said unto Mosiah, his father: I will spare him, and it shall be unto him according to thy faith—therefore, Mosiah trusted him unto the Lord". This stuck out to me recently. Mosiah was sending his sons (Nephites) to a wicked people (Lamanites) who love killing Nephites. We can imagine this father was worried for his sons. But the phrase "he trusted him unto the Lord". This stuck out to me. Even a father-->son relationship isn't as powerful as a Heavenly Father-->son relationship. In many situations I want to help, I want to solve the problems, I want to "protect" or help people just as mosiah I'm sure cared for and wanted to help his sons. But the greatest thing we can do is point these people in the right direction and get out of the way of the relationship between God and the person. That relationship is more important. Point them to The Father and the Son and get out of the way.
