21 April 2020 - I Love Being A Missionary

Hello everyone!!

Elder Milius is doing good. Me and Elder Garrison and lots of the missionaries here in Colorado are figuring this all out. We actually are just as busy as we were before we got stuck inside, it's just all different work. For some reason all the members think we are doing nothing, which is kinda frustrating BUT also good because they are all so willing to meet with us! We also had a miracle this week with a member being SUPER excited to do missionary work. She invited a family to meet with us and we have a lesson tomorrow evening! As we were talking on the phone with her she expressed how she wants to invite someone to meet with us once a week and how she invites people to do things all the time, why not invite them to do something this important! It was awesome. So a so said, don't worry about the missionaries they have lots to do and actually more opportunities coming up that we never would've found before. It's amazing.

We've had cool miracles with the people we're teaching. One guy sent us a scripture he liked from the Book of mormon this week again! We usually try to contact the people we are teaching every day and send them a scripture or quote or just talk. But this guy has been doing that to US! Pretty awesome. There's a teenager we've been teaching and he broke up with his girlfriend this week. Never thought I'd be video chatting a high schooler talking him through his breakup and pointing him to Christ. But there I was this week, and it was actually pretty need. Jesus Christ truly knows how this kid feels and even this is very insignificant to the whole world, it's important to this kid life. So it is important to Jesus Christ as well.

I went on a few "virtual exchanges" this week. Not sure if I've explained this before, but: because Colorado has a stay at home order, we can't sleep over and spend the day with each other like a normal exchange. So to replace it, we've been facetiming the missionaries and doing certain activities together. I had some incredible experiences and conversations this week. My two last exchanges were with Elder Chinbaatar and Elder Brimley. Pretty cool to have 2 of my favorite and closest companions as my last 2 exchanges. Both of which taught me a lot about myself and how I can do better. Both have made a pretty big impact on me, along with the rest of my companions. Honestly that's a way I've seen clearly the hand of the Lord in this work. I think where you serve is important, who you teach is important, but companions are SUPER important and I feel the Lord Caras very much about who missionaries serve with. Looking back I've seen the Lord's love for me and what he needed me to learn from each of my companions. Anyway! It was cool to work with those two and continue to learn from them.

Sorry for not putting too many details! But know I'm doing good and I'm happy. I don't have much time left to be a full-time missionary, so I'm taking advantage of every second I have! I know the Lord has a plan, I know He knew how long I would serve 21 months ago when He called me. But I will miss being a missionary more than I've missed doing anything else. Next Tuesday is going to be a busy day, so we usually have our preparation day on Monday the last week of the transfer. But Monday is also going to be busy with some stuff...so I'll send an email next week. I think it will be sent on Monday....but not sure! We'll see. Love you all thanks for reading all the way to this point haha!
